President's Message

Greetings and thank you for visiting our website!

The Rho Psi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® was chartered in 1989 to extend the impact of our beloved sisterhood in the Charlotte metropolitan area. For more than 35 years, our members have been actively engaged in enhancing the environment, promoting economic wealth opportunities, raising awareness of mental health, awarding scholarships, and designing programs that uplift children while empowering families and communities across this region.

From our early beginnings with 50 motivated charter members to a thriving chapter of more than 500 college-educated, committed community leaders, Rho Psi Omega has remained steadfast in its dedication to service and sisterhood. Our brilliant and compassionate members proudly support undergraduate chapters and emerging leaders while advancing initiatives that address educational attainment, economic opportunity, health and wellness, and civic engagement.

Guided by the 2026–2030 International Program, "Championing Service. Empowering Sisterhood. Transforming the World." Rho Psi Omega is committed to advancing Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®'s historic mission of Service to All Mankind® with purpose, excellence, and heart.

Our chapter embraces this bold vision by meeting the unique needs of the greater Charlotte community while strengthening the bonds that unite us as sisters. Through our R.I.S.E. framework, we will foster meaningful engagement, cultivate servant leaders, and create opportunities for every Soror to contribute her talents in ways that are impactful, collaborative, and sustainable. Together, we will champion service, empower one another, and transform lives—one act of service, one sisterly connection, and one community at a time.

As you explore our website, you will learn more about our programs, scholarship opportunities, and community partnerships. Whether you are a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, a community partner, a student, or a friend, we invite you to visit our website often, connect with us on social media and join us in our mission to serve all mankind.

Warmest Regards,
