On January 15, 2012, our beloved Sisterhood turns 104 years old. We, the members of the Rho Psi Omega Chapter will honor this accomplishment by renewing our loyalty and commitment to the communities we serve and to strengthening the bonds we share with an increased focus
on excellence. As we celebrate the New Year, many in our communities continue to suffer from the fallout of the economic downturn. So, we must remain dedicated to the increasing our service and contributions to the people and organizations we serve.

A quick review of our history reminds us that it was during the most challenging times that Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated made its greatest impact. The Rho Psi Omega Chapter is focused on carrying out our program initiatives by leveraging our collective creativity, will, and effort; just as our Founders demonstrated when they purposed to improved the plight of college girls and women. Our Program Initiative, Global Leadership through Timeless Service, defines our strategic direction toward meeting the needs of others, locally and globally. Members looking to connect with a chapter are encouraged to check in and visit our site often to learn about upcoming opportunities to serve and fellowship with members of our great sisterhood. We will be celebrating the 100^th Anniversary of the CIAA on March 1, 2012 at Pink Groove 7 at Phoenix in Charlotte, NC. Please refer to the Events page for details on purchasing your ticket to this event. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be awarded to scholarship recipients.

Scholarship Information

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the Rho Psi Omega Chapter, is offering for the 2011-2012 academic year, college scholarships to African American male and female high school seniors currently enrolled in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS). Eligible students must attend, beginning Fall 2012, an accredited four-year college or university. The Rho Psi Omega Chapter provides scholarships to continue our commitment to cultivating and encouraging high scholastic standards.

Chapter meetings are only open to members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Meetings start at 4:00 pm at University Meadows Elementary School (1600 Pavilion Blvd. in Charlotte). Unless otherwise notes, the attire is business. Refer to the Chapter Membership section for more details.
