Chapter Programs
Our current chapter programs are aligned with our national programs which currently focus on areas such as the Non-Traditional Entrepreneur, Economic Keys to Success, Economic Growth of the Black Family, and Health Resource Management and Economics. This is all exemplified in the work we do to provide "service to all mankind."
Some of our chapter programs include the following:
- Seniors Morning Out - January 23, 2010, the chapter conducted a tax workshop to provide updates and recent changes on allowed deductions. This event was held at the McCrorey YMCA to support senior citizens in the community.
- Expanding Student Potential - A tutorial program held at Sedgefield Elementary School for 4th grade students to help improve reading skills. This program is held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month.
- MS Walk - Walk to support Multiple Sclerosis treatment and research. The walk is scheduled for May 15, 2010 at the South Park Symphony in Charlotte, NC.
- Susan G. Komen for the Cure - Walk to support breast cancer treatment and research. The walk is scheduled for October 2, 2010, in uptown Charlotte.
- Salvation Army - The chapter volunteers to feed homeless families on the 4th Wednesday of the month.
- RPO Fit Club (Enthusiastically Shredding Pounds) - Designed to develop activities that motivate and engage sorors in emotionally healthy behaviors, to gain emotional empowerment, develop social support networks, and raise public awareness. This program also helps address the many health disparities in the Black community.
