A Community Affair in Druid Hills An annual fall event in the Druid Hills community which is designed to educate residents through workshop presentations on Financial Literacy, Parental Involvement, Job Training Skills, and HIV/AIDS. This event is filled with information, fellowship, and fun! Expanding Students Potential Tutor 4th grade students in reading at Sedgefield Elementary School on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month from 1:00 1:30 p.m. Women In Business Network (W. I. N.) This program is designed to elevate and support Black female entrepreneurship through networking, resource sharing, and educational opportunities. Meeting dates: January 25th, April 26th, and July 26th from 6:00 8:00 p.m. at the Westin Hotel, 301 College Street. Open to the public. Womens Health Symposium Partnering with Friendship Missionary Baptist Church to promote and improve the spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, and financial health of women. Annual event registration required. Open to the public. Pink Pajama Party Partnering with Friendship Missionary Baptist Church to promote breast cancer awareness. Annual event registration required. Open to the public. Black Dollar Month A program that focuses on Black women owned businesses. We will highlight businesses owned and operated by sorors in the chapter. Our Black Pages will be updated on a regular basis. Make a Move for Multiple Sclerosis Partner with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to support ongoing treatment therapy to improve the quality of life for many people with Multiple Sclerosis. The first Black support group for Black women with MS in our area in My Sisters, which meets monthly. The 2007 MS Walk will be held in April. Open to the public. Susan G. Komen Walk for the Cure - Volunteer to walk to support breast cancer treatment and research. The 2007 will be held in October. Open to the public. Seniors in the Spotlight Supporting senior citizens in the McCrory YMCA community on the 3rd Saturday in November 2007. The program is designed to Engage Seniors in Physical activities. Open to the public. RPO Fit Club (Enthusiastically Shedding Pounds) Designed to develop activities that motivate and engage sorors in emotionally healthy behaviors. Sorors attend weigh-ins monthly at Chapter meetings. Program is from January 2007-May 2007. Alpha Academy Partnering with Beta Nu Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. to focus on the growth and development of Black males.
